Quantitative Tools in the News

Just to confirm the relevance of quantitative tools for consulting in today’s hot topics, I submit to you three four front-page stories from the past week that Econsult has had a behind-the-scenes analytical role in:

F 5/11 – There was a story on the front page about development in Camden, where we did some work on how tax incentive programs might induce new construction.

Th 5/10 – There was a story on the front page of the business section about a potential bottoming out of the residential real estate market; we keep a house price index of the city and region so have been watching these trends closely.

W 5/9 – There was a story on the front page about the Actual Value Initiative and school funding, and we’ve had some involvement on these issues.

T 5/8 – There was a story on the front page about how Governor Christie is delaying action on online gaming in New Jersey; we did a study on the potential economic and job impact of online gaming in the state.

All of these issues are steeped in lower-case-p politics (remember, not meant in a negative sense!), but the numbers matter too, so having quantitative tools for consulting gives you yet another way to get involved and contribute to the great good.  (Translation: take my class!)
